Luke Ryder

Luke joined OBL as Director of Strategy, Policy and Standards in 2024. He is responsible for shaping the organisation’s strategy – helping to deliver mass adoption of open-banking enabled products and services in the UK – as well as supporting regulatory and government stakeholders in the development of a sustainable policy environment. He is also responsible for the Open Banking Standard, helping support participant firms in growing the open banking ecosystem.

Prior to this, Luke spent 12 years at Barclays in a variety of roles, most recently as Head of Government Relations and Policy for its Retail, Payments and Wealth businesses, and before that as Head of Strategic Affairs, and Chief of Staff to the Chairman. He began his career in the UK civil service.
